All About Home Insurance

Building a home can sometimes take a lifetime. It involves not only tremendous planning and careful investment of resources, but can also dig a deep hole in your years of saving. In the end, it is certainly worth all the effort. There is no other feeling than standing under the roof of a building that you can call ‘your home’. But, just building a home is not enough. It is necessary to preserve and protect it against all kinds of mishaps. It is exactly for this purpose that home insurance policy is an absolute necessity.

Home insurance, which is also called homeowners insurance, is a policy that is used to cover private dwellings. It brings together various insurance personal insurance protections which include losses that can occur to one’s home. Losses can be of various kinds, like loss of the structure/building of the home, loss of the contents in the home, and even losses or liabilities occurring due to accidents at home.

A home insurance policy usually costs equal to the amount that would be required to replace the house, and any other contents in the house that is covered under the policy. It is generally a lengthy contract and includes all the details about what will be paid and what will not be paid to the insured in case of various events. Natural calamities, like earthquakes, floods, war and nuclear explosions are excluded from the home insurance contract, though they may be included in special cases or under specific policies.

The home insurance policy is a fixed term contract. This means that it is valid for a fixed period of time. The payment made by the insured to the insurer is termed as a premium and is determined on the basis of the complete cost of the policy. The insured must pay the insurer for each term. Premium charged will be less if the house is less prone to mishaps or damage.

If she truly did nothing to cause the fire, then it may be time for her to hire an attorney.

5 months to settle a claim is not really an unreasonable time, especially if there are suspicious circumstances. And if they do prove that she started the fire, that $2500 they gave her under the "additional living expense" portion of her homeowners policy, they are going to want it back. If she started the fire, they legally don't have to pay her a dime, including living expenses.

Insurance companies have every right to investigate any claim, auto, homeowners, injury claims, anything they suspect might be fraud. Insurance fraud is a multi-billion dollar industry in this country.

Actually, insurance companies have insurance. Ever hear of reinsurance? I know, it pissed me off to learn that as well. None of them are really losing which is why they keep getting richer. Did you know insurance takes about 12% of your net income? Auto, health, dental, life, unemployment, etc.

Also, the properties that don't have PMI are the ones where there is 20% I believe already paid up. That's why the PMI goes away since there is enough to recover from factoring in the house, insurance, etc., etc. It's a whole numbers game, but don't believe that the banks lose out. They've been practicing the art of banking for hundreds of years, you've been doing it for like ten? Whoever thinks the banks will lose on more than a tiny fraction of deals is in la la land.

It depends on a lot of factors, try this site

here you can get quotes from different companies in Dallas.

A-W-E-S-O-M-E your works is very awesome! cool!!!! very good

Are you in Florida? American Tradition is a brand new insurance company operating in Florida, and they are NOT a rated company by AM Best, at their own request. That's a major red flag.

When I went to their website, it looks like American Tradition is for standard homes, and Modern is for mobile homes. I'd guess, that there's a strong possibility that you got a quote for a regular home, not a mobile home, and that's why you're seeing the price difference.

I would use caution, when moving to a company like this. Based on their website, they're counting on Lloyds of London to backup their claims, AND, the state of Florida.

awesome stuff man,….ama practice hard to get to yo level!

Actually most insurance companies ask if you are purchasing the house now or if you have owned it and if you have owned the property then they will want to know who currently provides coverage on the property. Its not a good idea to lie about this. If the mortgage company issued coverage you may be able to use that as your current coverage. Try here for a list of local agents: http://www.insuremyhouse.com Most agencies can write a non-preferred policy for a year to re-establish prior insurance and then convert you to a preferred policy.

Its called flood insurance. Normal home owners insurance does NOT cover floods or sewer back up. Your insurance agent will help with the details. The federal government will issue the policy.

HOLY CRAP! Comparing this to the original picture, they’re identical!

Hi, I am from New Orleans too. It is sad how everything is still left. I hope it does come back. It is a strong place . I know what you are saying…Take Care..

wich program he is for doing this ? beside a tablet ofc

The insurance will not cover that. Insurance does not cover what would probly be considered a "maintenance issue".

You might try Home Depot or repost under a construction category or something similar. Also, try DIY network.
